So I was just casually checking my blog and realised i haven't updated it since February!!!! Slacker much! So I guess there is A LOT to catch up on! Firstly, i spent 6 weeks back home, but not before a wee stint in hospital (luckily not due to any injuries i my self suffered). A friend hurt her back rather badly so i spent Valentines Day in A and E (not the worst thing in the world - there are some yummy doctors :D) and the following days, but finally i made it home! It was so nice to be back with the family and friends :) I think the highlight of my trip home has to be the reunion with friends back at Uni in Essex! Some crazy times were had, as usual and Colchester didn't fail to satisfy my need to a bit of good old English Binge Drinking :D! (So, just attempted to upload some photos from Easter but they won't upload so they will be put up at a later date).
Oh, how can i forget my trip over to Northern Ireland/ Ireland! I spent a week or so catching up with my family in Lisburn and paid my friend Eamon a visit down in Maynooth, Dublin - such a lovely place to do your year abroad! Although i'd hardly count Ireland as abroad, but ssshhhh we won't tell him that :P But anyway, after 6 weeks of relaxation after a very 'stressful' semester (and i say that with an abundance of sarcasm ) i headed back to Trier and so far it has been glorious! The weather has treated us very well :) There have been some rather crazy nights out since being back - Josh and I careering around Club 11 at a 'Spotted Trier' party (yes, as sleezey as it sounds!), alienating everyone possible at the Petrisberg Kneipe and trying to sleep in the street. Maybe not our best idea ever but it seemed a good idea at the time! However, i have to admit, i am not a fan of viewing the videos from the night before - hiding under tables because you're being 'terribly honest' (one of Josh's finer moments :P), conversations about Russian cannibalism, pretending to be Charlie Sheen and chatting in Latin - says a lot about the company i keep!haha
However, it has come to my attention that so far in my blog i haven't really addressed the issue of work/studying. To be completely honest, as an Erasmus student, i don't do an awful lot! They Dozenten/innen are very easy on us, probably as they expect that we can speak very little German. Either way, it made life very easy and enjoyable last semester, but i fear that will change this semester! I came away with some very good grades so am hoping to do better in Sommer Semester :D
But moving away from academia, loving life! In a week or so it's Pfingsten (or Pentecost), a Catholic holiday. Catholicism - Gott sei Dank! Therefore we plan to visit Muenchen and Nuremberg during the week long break, funds depending obviously. We also get quite a few days off due to other various holidays i pretend to know the name of :/ Needless to say, this semester is going to be amazing! I'm going to sign off here, as i have only just noticed the length of this post haha so i will return very soon with further updates and hopefully photos too!!
Bis bald!!! x
